Many of our visitors are surprised to learn that Coro Park is located on a working farm, our family farm, that has been growing sheep and grain for almost 40 years.
This unique property runs right to the pristine waters of the Indian Ocean and we set out, a few years ago, to develop an area on our farm to share with the world, our love of the outdoors, nature, the ocean and camping.
Coronation Beach is abundant with the local species of WA Rock Lobster that our family has also fished for several decades, so we have a long and deep connection with the land and surrounding waters.
The farming life runs deep in our veins however it continues to change and present many challenges. Through this we have seen we have seen drought, fire, cyclones, pandemics, the rise and fall of commodity prices so our campground provides welcome diversification to ‘our day job’.
We spent many years and any spare money developing our campground, all the while farming and raising our three kids, then in 2023, we finally opened the gate.
We started with 20 self-contained camping bays and in less than a year have already grown to 40 bays.
In the not too distant future, we hope to open an ablution block to be able to accommodate all campers from tents to RV’s then we hope to build our camp kitchen and function area.
Then its on to stage 2 …….
